Dear
Editor,
Who
would
know
that
the
wonderful
gay
and
lesbian
open-minded
community
who
helped
to
elect
Barack
Obama
would
at
the
same
time
turn
the
gun
on
ourselves.
We
had
crushing
defeats
throughout
the
country.
How
civil
rights
has
become
a
popularity
contest
is
beyond
me...
I
am
going
to
go
out
on
a
limb
here
as
a
way
to
help
ourselves.
Why
(and
I
will
write
to
the
Stonewall
committee
as
well)
is
the
Gay
Pride
celebration
not
about
the
enormous
and
impressive
contributions
that
the
GLBT
community
throughout
time
have
contributed
to
humanity?
If
you
go
to
Wikpedia
and
type
in
“Gay
and
Lesbian,”
they
have
famous
folks
listed
in
alphabetical
order.
It
is
amazing.
I
am
not
trying
to
suppress
anybody.
I
just
think
it's
time
to
make
these
pride
events
family
orientated
and
a
little
educational.
Parties
are
parties
and
pride
is
PRIDE.
And
for
God's
sake
get
rid
of
the
LUBE
garbage
boxes
all
over
the
place.
There,
I
feel
better.

Bob
Adams
needs
to
gently
remove
his
head
from
his
ass
“No
politicking
at
protests,
please,”
Letters,
November
20).
First
of
all,
if
Adams
really
“left
in
disgust
after
five
minutes”
into
the
rally
then
he
didn’t
even
hear
Glassman
speak.
I
heard
Glassman’s
speech,
he
was
right
on,
and
the
crowd
loved
it.
He
told
the
truth
and
educated
the
attendees
about
the
lip
service
and
pandering
of
Commissioner
Rodstrom
who
contrary
to
what
Adams
says,
has
NOT
been
there
for
us.
Adams
is
correct
that
Rodstrom
was
elected
in
2006
with
substantial
GLBT
support;
however,
that
support
has
evaporated
just
like
Rodstrom’s
promises
to
our
community.
Not
only
has
she
not
moved
one
piece
of
legislation
for
us,
but,
worse,
she
has
remained
silent
in
the
face
of
Mayor
Naugle’s
hate
and
if
you
watch
the
tape
of
the
October
7
Commission
meeting,
then
you
will
see
Rodstrom
applaud
a
hate
speaker
and
sit
silently
when
it
came
time
to
move
a
resolution
to
oppose
Amendment
2.
The
resolution
died
because
of
Rodstrom.
Bob
Adams,
you
are
nothing
more
than
a
paid
mouthpiece
for
Rodstrom,
you
live
in
Dania
Beach,
not
Fort
Lauderdale,
and
you
are
ignorant
to
the
fact
that
YES,
this
is
all
about
politics,
and
silence
kills.
Fort
Lauderdale
needs
new
leadership
and
a
City
Commission
that
reflects
and
vocally
supports
the
diversity
of
us
all.
We
must
elect
Glassman
and
dump
Rodstrom
–
maybe
she
can
run
for
Dania
Beach
Commissioner.
